Parison's Orthodox Tea Factory

The first thing most of us do when we wake up in the morning is to drink a delicious cup of tea. This is a common practise in many homes in India. But the taste of tea varies from person to person. Orthodox black tea has a different taste. The British introduced orthodox tea production in India. They made tea the traditional way, and it’s not made in powdered form. Orthodox tea is traditionally made from dried leaves. For making orthodox tea, the best leaves (two leaves and one bud) are used. Before the introduction of the CTC style, people used to brew tea that was traditionally processed. This type of tea, made from processed tea, is less strong but superior in taste. In the orthodox tea factory at Parisons Estate, tea is cultivated using modern machines such as hand rolling. Such tea is exported to foreign countries, like European countries. Parison's Estate has facilities for visiting tourists to learn about orthodox tea-making methods.

CTC Tea Factory

Apart from orthodox tea production, Parisons Estate also has a CTC-style tea powder manufacturing factory. Cut, tear, and curl (sometimes crash, tear, and curl) is a method of processing black tea. It is tea production using modern machinery instead of traditional tea processing. The CTC method differs from conventional tea making, in which the tea leaves are rolled into strips. This type of tea is sometimes called Mamri tea. The CTC process was invented by Sir William McKercher in Assam, India, in the 1930s. This process spread to India and Africa in the 1950s. Today, most black tea around the world is made with CTC tea powder and can be made strong. Apart from orthodox tea making, visitors can also see the modern method of making tea powder directly from the CTC factory.

Realizing the Horti-tourism potential, ABAD Group's Parisons Plantation at Mananthavady in Wayanad has started mixed farming. This is the first step towards making agrotourism a major recreational project in the plantation. This is the first step in turning it into a plan. Local and foreign fruit trees and ornamental plants are planted here. According to the plantation authorities, the aim behind this activity is to provide an opportunity for the guests to spend some time with nature. Over 50 acres of fruit trees are now planted in Parison's Hills. Mangosteen, avocado, rambutan, lychee, strawberry, pomelo, lychee, and grapefruit are mostly planted here. Tourists can see all this in person and pick fruits from the plants.

Nature’s Harmony with the Sweet Relish of an Orchard

Horti-tourism is considered one of the newest forms of tourism in the world. Its main feature is linking tourism development with horticulture. This is a time when the potential of horticultural tourism in India is being discussed more than ever before. Horti-tourism also holds great promise in Kerala, where more and more international tourists are arriving. Apart from rapidly revitalising both the tourism and horticulture sectors, horticulture tourism is a sustainable measure to massively strengthen the country's agricultural economy. The state government aims to develop various models of Horti-tourism in Kerala like other states.

Beekeeping is also part of mixed farming. There are also ten-year-old oil palms on the plantation. Horti-tourism involves the participation of tourists in activities such as harvesting and planting in fruit orchards, vegetable gardens, and gardens, in addition to recreation and research. This innovative idea is to develop gardens, nurseries, and farms as a new tourist attraction and generate economic benefits from both horticulture and tourism.

Horti-tourism is mainly chosen by people who want a change from busy city life and stress at work. Horti-tourism is perfect for those who are looking for a good place to spend peaceful days in a green environment in harmony with nature.
